WP2 – Analytical Framework
WP2 aimed to identify and organise the key factors that may help to explain the use, influence and impact of policy indicators, and to develop a theoretically informed understanding of how these factors interact. The work package provided a provisional ‘analytical framework’ for the subsequent empirical research into actual indicator use. The work reviewed and brought together key finsights from earlier research which can help understand the actual use and policy influence of indicators, discussed ideas drawn from this literature with stakeholders and experts in the indicator field, and made these insights operational for the subsequent research work within POINT. The analytical framework will inform the detailed empirical research work in work packages 3-5, and the stakeholder consultations in WP 6. The findings from WPs 3-6 will form the basis for subsequent revision and refinement of the framework towards the end of the project, prior to the final synthesis in WP7.
The final report from WP2 was finalised in June 2009.
